Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa
Science and Technology Museum – Ottawa |
Now in early December we decided to check out the newly reopened museum in Ottawa, the Canada Science and Technology Museum. We had already made a brief visit there, a few years before the renovation (in 2013) – see some photos here.
The area on the outside is not fully ready, after all, the museum was re-opened to the public only 2 weeks ago, but inside, everything seemed to be in place. Some of the museum's attractions have been reused and others are unheard of. On Saturday, when we went, it was very crowded, with many families.
I think it's very interesting to visit for those who come to Ottawa and have extra time in the city. I still think the Children's Museum within the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian Museum of Nature comes first on my list, but Science and Technology comes in third.
The museum is open every day (September to April is closed on Mondays) from 9 am to 5 pm. Admission to the museum costs $17 for adults and $11 for children (ages 3 to 17). Admission for children 2 years and under is free of charge.
The museum is on the east side of the city, in the St. Laurent area. Parking is available at the museum, with a value of $3/hour or $8 a single fee (it always takes more than 1 hour to visit). To arrive by bus, ride your route on the OC Transpo website (bus in Ottawa) here.
