New York City
I ended up never posting the photos of the trip, although it was difficult to capture all the moments, due to the daughter to the strip and the city totally taken by tourists, since it was a week before Christmas. New York City is always a fascinating place and full of things to see and review, no matter how many times you visit (ours was already the 4th or 5th time).
We decided to go at that time of year not just by chance. Diego had an event in town and as we knew of the possible coming to Germany, so a visit to New York City seemed like a little farewell (for a while) as we would no longer live so “close” to this fascinating city.
For those of you who have just arrived here on the blog, we lived until early August 2019 in Ottawa, Canada, about a 7-hour drive from New York City. Now, living in Germany, visiting the city means a trip to the other side of the ocean, in another continent.
We flew to the city this time, despite the possibility of going by car and we stayed inside the city only by public transportation and hiking.
For the first time, we booked a hotel in Manhattan, unlike the other times we chose to stay in New Jersey to save on hotel bills (you know what cheap hotel in New York has nothing).
Desta vez, escolhemos o hotel Double Tree by Hilton – New York Times Square West e atendeu bem as nossas necessidades, contando que éramos 5.
The three of them had moments of crying, but in general everything went well and we had very nice moments that they still remember until today, almost 1 year later (because Arthur still doesn’t speak properly and probably doesn’t remember anything).
But, yes, it’s a dreadful job and a strain. I love photography, but I didn’t even take the “big” camera with me, simply for lack of time to stop and take pictures (and let’s face it, not only time as inspiration is missing in the rush). Everything was registered with the cell phone itself. There’s a selection of some videos from the past in Instagram stories highlights, called new york, check it out!
See you next time!
