Philadelphia and Washington!

Hey, guys!

Over easter weekend we went to visit the city of Philadelphia and Washington. It was my birthday present, which was March 29th. Ehhh!! Loved!

We woke up at 3:00 a.m. on April 10th, heading to Ottawa Airport. We left the car there at Park and Fly and at 6:00 a.m. we were flying to Detroit where we made a stopover. We arrived at the hotel room in Philadelphia at exactly noon and the saga began. By the way, the hotel was super cool, had a king size bed that was a luxury and a comfort only… Hehe
Oh, Dexter stayed at Ivan and Ju’s, along with their kittens, Penny and Cherie. It seems to us that he loved it, didn’t even miss us in the three days he stayed there. Thanks Ivan and Ju for the dog sitter!

In addition, on Sunday afternoon we flew back to Ottawa, this time directly from Philadelphia. We went to get Dex and then we came home, because I had to work on Monday. Diego had a holiday on Monday, and then he can stay home and rest. Yes! Resting… because our lightning trips like this, are very cool but are tiring, since we were beating leg basically all day … It’s going to be worth it!
Philadelphia, Philadelphia

Us and Liberty Bell
For those who do not know, Philadelphia was the first capital of the United States (for only 10 years, while the current capital, Washington, was being built) and is the city with the most historical value per square meter in the country. This is where the constitution and declaration of independence of the country were drafted and signed around 1776.
Today the city has 1.8 million inhabitants, reaching 5.8 million in its metropolitan region, being the 5th largest American city.
Important sights include Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, National Constitution Center, 1st and 2nd U.S. banks among others. For those who like television, the Rocky movies (the staircase where Stallone runs and even has a statue of him there nowadays), Philadelphia (with Tom Hanks), Sixth Sense (from director M. Night Shyamalan who is from there), The legend of the lost treasure (with Nicolas Cage) and the serial Cold Case, among others, have scenes in the city.
As we took váaaarias photos, we decided to put them in Picasa, click here to check.
Washington

Us on Capitol Hill

On Saturday, we rented a car and headed to the current American capital, which has several sights (Capitol, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Pentagon, Obelisk, Supreme Court, FBI etc) and a lot of movement all day. The city has 592,000 inhabitants and about 5.3 million in the metropolitan area.
I think the best option is to take a look at the photos even to check out our wanderings there. Oh, i couldn’t find Obama, just spy on his house… Hehe
A big hug to everyone and I hope you enjoy the photos.
