Austin – Texas – Part II

Following our tours through Austin, we spent most of the day at Zilker Park (see previous post – Austin Part I here). We made a strategic stop for a beautiful view of downtown Austin at Rock Point inside the park.
View of Zilker Park from Rock Point – this park is great!
Lou Neff Point Lookout on the edge of Zilker Park
Lou Neff Point – Downtown Austin and Colorado River
Barton Springs – Public natural pool – too bad you couldn’t get in, the line was huge!
Playground near Barton Springs pool
Quick drive – by car – on Congress Avenue – One of the most famous streets in the city…
We also pass the other area of Congress Avenue (further south) which is also considered “famous” in the city, with weird bars and shops. We do not have photos of the area simply because I did not find valid (aka – beautiful)… 🙂
The next day, we decided to meet San Antonio, 1h20min from Austin. But that’s history for the next post.
At the end of Monday, when we returned from San Antonio, we visited a few more places in downtown Austin, including the Capitol Building (Austin is the capital of the state of Texas), which is beautiful and surprisingly was still open to visitation (free) past 5 a.m. afternoon, and detail, on a holiday.
