Highlights of a memorable year | 2019

Well, I finally decided to help Adri with the blog and post something here, and thought a retrospective of 2019 would be a good way to start. We did a lot in the year, and if we look back to New Year’s Eve 2018, we didn’t anticipate what was about to come. I guess that’s the beauty of life…

In 2019 we decided to embark in a new adventure and move to Germany. It’s not that we were not happy with Canada, but I received an offer for a job in Frankfurt and we thought it was the right time to try something like that. We moved in August and for that reason, we spent most of the summer in Canada organizing the house for sale, keeping it clean for potential buyers, selling our stuff, and trying to get everything in order for our trip and new beginning (the actual process needs another post).

We really like our new house and neighborhood, and the girls got used to going to their bilingual school (English/German), and made a few friends already, which was one of our biggest concerns. On the professional front, the job turned out to be a bust, and for a moment we questioned our decision to move here. But I now have a new job starting in 2020, and we’re hoping that will quiet things down for us.

So, without further ado, even though it was really hard to pick one picture to represent each month, here are some of the highlights 2019 for us.
