Playmobil COVID-19 Mask

Playmobil invented a COVID-19 mask to protect their employees from the disease, and are how offering the same mask to the public. It is a reusable and washable mask, with a very interesting design. And they are donating 1€ from each purchase to the German Red Cross to help combating the pandemic.

Three Playmobil COVID-19 masks

For those who don’t know, Playmobil is a German company, operating since 1974 and based in Zirndorf, a small town near Nuremberg (and about 230Km from Frankfurt). The Playmobil FunPark also operates in the city, and we plan to visit it in the near future.

There are 3 sizes and 4 colors: small in orange, medium in gray and large in turquoise or black. The value is 4.99€ + shipping (in Germany it costs 3.95€, with free shipping over 10€).

This week, I saw some kids wearing the mask at the girls’ school and found them really cool! We haven’t gotten ours yet, but we are really tempted!

Curiosity: the company designed, created as a prototype and sent it to production here in Germany in just 10 days. The company had its employees in mind when it came up with the idea, but ended up entering as a brand series because it was really innovative and useful.

In Brazil and Canada, Playmobil does not yet seem to offer the product. But in some European countries it is already possible to buy it through the official country website.
