Phantasialand | Amusement Park in Germany

    phantasialand

This post is about our visit to Phantasialand amusement park in Germany in October 2019. The girls had their fall vacation (2 weeks) and we decided to take a couple of days to go visit the park. Phantasialand – The Park The park is about 2h from our house, and 30 minutes from Cologne. It opened in 1967 and attracts about 2 million visitors a year (source). It has 6 lands, with a total of 36 attractions. There are 6 roller coasters and 5 water rides. One of the cool things about the park is that it is pet-friendly. Therefore we were able to take our dogs with us. And…

Holiday Park | First trip in Germany

    Holiday Park

A few weeks ago, we made our first trip since our arrival in Germany. Yes, it was just a day trip, but I believe it was a perfect debut for our family. The truth is, I researched a trip to give to Diego who had his birthday at the beginning of September. The park was my chosen destination, which was fun for the whole family. I’ve been dying to start visiting the castles and villages in Germany, but I know they’re not the most attractive trips for kids, so I’m holding back (for now!). Diego is not a kid, but he loves an amusement parks, so that’s where I based…

Trip to Riviera Maya | Playa del Carmen | Mexico

In this post we will talk about our trip to Riviera Maya, more precisely Playa del Carmen. We decided to use March break to do as several Canadians do and escape the never-ending winter. After doing a lot of research, we found a good package to Mexico. The only drawback was that the flight left from Montreal, and not Ottawa. The flight left really early on Sunday. To make things easier, we booked a hotel near the airport with free shuttle, and drove to Montreal on Saturday. For that, we used Park, Sleep & Fly, which combined the hotel night, plus we could leave the car parked in their property…

10 tips for tourists in Canada

In this post I will list 10 tips for tourists in Canada, based on my experience of living in the country for over 10 years. I decided to write this based on our own experiences being unsure what to do in certain situations when visiting other countries. So whether it’s just for sightseeing, a short time studying, or more time on Canadian soil, it’s always good to pay attention to these things. #1 | No Scents is Good Sense Number 1 in my list of 10 tips for tourists in Canada is about odors. People really do not like strong odors from perfumes here. Actually, many places have signs that…

    Trip to Negril in Jamaica

    Trip to Negril in Jamaica

For our trip to Negril in Jamaica we once again decided to leave from Montreal, as the vacation package was a lot cheaper. This was Arthur’s first flight, and he did really well, sleeping for the most part. The girls are already used to it, but normally fight against sleeping, and only did towards the end. Of course they were exhausted when we arrived. The least cool part of the trip was the arrival at Montego Bay airport, that had a huge and slow customs queue. It was really hot without air conditioning, and too much for the three tired/restless children to handle. The Resort The resort was about 1:30…

    2 days in Florence

Florence is the capital of Tuscany and began as a medieval city many years before Christ. The city is known as the birthplace of the Renaissance. We stayed at the hotel Poeta Dante (near the Basilica of Santa Croce). Since the city is flat and the main attractions are all close to each other, we walked everywhere. The car ended up staying in a public garage nearby the whole time. We loved the visit to Palazzo Vecchio, full of its mysteries and secret passages. Here are some of the highlights of our stay in Florence. Basilica of Santa Croce The Basilica di Santa Croce (Basilica of the Holy Cross) is situated on…
