Bonnechere Caves | Tourism close to Ottawa

    June 9, 2015 /
    Bonnechere Caves

Another Saturday arrived, a beautiful day dawned and I thought: what can we do today? That besides tidying up the house, dealing with the DIY mini projects that are always going on and so on.I remembered that it was on my list to visit the Bonnechere Caves, 123km west of Ottawa, in Eganville – Ontario. I researched the schedules, called in some friends at the last minute and right after lunch we headed there. Once you get there, you see right away that the infrastructure is very simple and rustic, no big ads, sidewalks or buildings. Simple washrooms, ticket office/souvernirs/water and a parking lot are the things you will find…

    The magical world of Disneyland

    May 25, 2015 /

On the second and third days in California, we visited Disneyland. Let me just say that I’m even confused with Disney World in Orlando, such a similarity in access. Inside, that main street and the whole atmosphere is very similar too, but numerous attractions differ between the two parks. I’ve already written about the other annex park here, disney california adventure. We walked through everything, but we didn’t go to all the attractions, because we just couldn’t. For a small child, like Alice, the ToonTown area, Mickey’s town and his gang, was a great option. Had Minnie’s house, Mickey and more, had a roller coaster that she can go (and…

The cons of immigrating to Canada | Immigrant life

    May 4, 2015 /

Just as I talked about the pros earlier, I couldn't help but quote the cons of immigrating to Canada, because yes, they exist and aren't that few. For some the items below may not bother as much, as for others, they can be decisive points to come or not to come. I believe that most of the most challenging and "less good" things about coming to live in these bands end up weighing more after the person arrives and sees, in fact, that the bixo picks up anywhere in the world. The best thing is to try to imagine these points in a day-to-day and long term future and assess…

    Disney California Adventure…

    April 26, 2015 /

After our visit to New Orleans, our next stop was Los Angeles, California. Our plans included visiting the city, going to the coast, and going to nearby Disney parks in Ananhein. It may be my innocence or just lack of knowledge, but I didn’t know until recently that Disneyland is the original park, planned by Walt Disney, there in the early 50s (while the Florida complex only opened in 1971). There are two parks in the region, Disneyland that opened in 1955 and Disney California Adventures, opened in 2001. Following the weather forecast, we booked the first 2 days in the region, to visit the parks. But to make up…

The Pros of Immigrating to Canada | Immigrant life

    April 23, 2015 /

I'm going to start by talking today about the pros of immigrating to Canada from a potential immigrant standpoint. I find it super interesting to weigh the pros and cons of this great change, before embarking on an adventure that quietly has nothing. See the post of cons here. I know from experience that changing countries in the long run is not an easy decision. You will move away from everything you know, that you have become accustomed for a long time (if not your whole life so far), career, home, friends and family, to go into the unknown (as much as you know the city you are going to,…

New Orleans , Louisiana | Family travel

    April 10, 2015 /

You’ve done more than a month of our crazy tour of the States and I’m still at the beginning of our adventure. Well, after Atlanta, we flew to New Orleans, Louisiana.  The city made headlines in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina passed through there. At the time, about 80% of the city was flooded, and in some places with about 4.6 m of water. The famous neighborhood called the French Quarter was almost all spared the worst of the hurricane. After almost 10 years, what remained are, among other things, the vibrant atmosphere and unique architecture of the city. Lots of music, art, cuisine and crafts through the streets and establishments,…
