    Niagara Falls and its beauties…

    August 29, 2008 /

Hello guys!! Just to record the other great weekend tour we went to Toronto, we went to visit Niagara Falls. The city is approximately 120km from Toronto and borders the state of New York in the United States. So on one side of the river we were in the Canadian city of Niagara Falls and on the other side we would see the American city of the same name. The falls were formed from the erosion generated after the last ice age about 10,000 years ago (called Wisconsin glaciers). The massive waterfalls are divided into American, Canadian and Bridal Veil falls. The American Falls have already reached 52 meters high,…

    Master Series de Toronto

    August 8, 2008 /

Hello guys, On 25/07 we went to Toronto to visit our newest friends Renato, Fernanda, Lucas and Felipe (also gauchos, but from the capital. Hehe…), who welcomed us into their home along with the oldest friends Gadi, Suzi and Ana. We stayed the 9 in their apartment, but despite the amount of people on the same roof, we were very well accommodated. 🙂 We arrived on Friday night and were greeted with a super barbecue, including with the right cassava flour… Hehehe… They have been in Toronto for a little over 5 months and are living in North York, which is a city in the metropolitan area with approximately 650,000…

    Canada Day

    July 17, 2008 /

Hello guys, Canada Day, which takes place annually on July 1st, was very interesting and surprising. On July 1, 1867, it was when 4 provinces, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario joined and formed the country. Unlike most countries, such as Brazil and the USA, which celebrate Independence Day, Canada's day is celebrated as if it were the country's anniversary, since the real independence of England occurred only in 1982, 115 years later, where the act of constitution was officially instituted, when the last ties with the British "colony" were severed (with the exception of the figure of Queen Elizabeth, who continues to "reign" here). The people here really…

Part IV – Architectural beauties of Montreal

    July 13, 2008 /

Hello guys, Finishing the tours of the month of June still, suuper delayed, I am posting today some of the sights that has for one of its characteristics, the sculptural and innovative architecture. Biodome de Montreal Olympic Stadium – Built for the 1976 Olympics… … by French architect Roger Taillibert … with its 175-meter tower. Unfortunately, the Olympic park is reputed to be the "white elephant" since incredible CAD$1.61 billion was spent to fully pay for it, which only happened in December 2006 (the figure includes construction, repairs, renovations, interest and inflation) and are still high annual spending amounts to keep the complex apparently not completely used. … in the…
