6 furniture stores to start your new home in Germany

    April 13, 2020 /
    Ikea Frankfurt

That expat life is full of ups and downs, most of us already know it. That’s what inspired me to share this post with you, sharing my research about one of the first steps of an expatriate family: setting up the house and with that, where to buy furniture and decor items for your new home in Germany. Of course, we brought a lot of things from our home in Canada with us and we didn’t have to buy everything from scratch, but still, as some “big” furniture pieces were sold separately or as part of the home sale in Canada and I had to research here in Germany where…

How to choose your next travel destination

    April 11, 2020 /
    Target Center

This post was inspired by the many stories I have heard or read out there, about travel and above all, the purpose. How to choose your next travel destination, especially now that the only thing we can do is plan. With this pandemic and the crisis in the tourism sector, I found it worth talking about the reasons that make us want to travel and what the choice of itineraries are based our our personal preferences and wishes and what is bases in influences of social media. This theme came out of yet another one of my “shower wanderings”, which is basically the only time I can hear my own…

    Carrot cake

This recipe for carrot cake with a Brazilian type of sweet topping is very easy and I got inspired by Rita Lobo, from Nhac GNT, and her video are well explained on YouTube. I changed topping from the original recipe, because I had a can of condensed milk open in the fridge and wanted to use it! We are here in these confined days, not knowing what the rest of the year will be like, because of this Covid-19 virus. In addition, our work routines with children at ome, family and friends relationships were changed from one day to the next. For sure, everyone is experiencing some level of stress…

Kids having an ice cream in the backyard

I still can’t really believe that we are going through this difficult world crisis, the Coronavirus, or the Covid-19, which to this day has already infected about 300,000 people around the world. Here in Germany, as in several other countries, including Canada, schools are closed and children are at home. And not only that, we are ina voluntary quarantine, but in a few days the “lockdown” can be confirmed officially, basically restricting not necessary errands in order to contain the spread of the virus. Well, having the kids at home 24 hours a day is pretty challenging, you totally know that at this point! Here we are trying to entertain…
