You’ve done more than a month of our crazy tour of the States and I’m still at the beginning of our adventure. Well, after Atlanta, we flew to New Orleans, Louisiana.  The city made headlines in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina passed through there. At the time, about 80% of the city was flooded, and in some places with about 4.6 m of water. The famous neighborhood called the French Quarter was almost all spared the worst of the hurricane. Downtown Atlanta in the background… Just because we’re kind of crazy, we packed our bags and put the family that just grew up on a tour of the United States, taking advantage of some of Diego’s work commitments, knowing 4+ American cities. This was our first time on the American West Coast (well, Diego had been there for a day…) and in the most populous state of the States… San Francisco was our destination this time and as Diego’s parents, Ari and Lourdes, would be visiting us here in Canada for that day, we arranged a family trip this time. As I said in the previous post about Texas, we set up a quick last minute visit to San Antonio, about 1h 20 minutes from Austin. We usually studied the cities we were going to visit, but as San Antonio was decided at the time, we were kind of in the dark about what we were going to visit and where we would walk.
