    November 6, 2020 /
    Mood board interiors

Today I bring you 6 decor pieces of inspiration for your home this season. They are ideas for you to implement in your home, with flexible pieces that could fit any month of the year, with just a few simple modifications. That time of year arrived in the northern hemisphere where a cozy place in the house is golden. Create that Hygge moment (I talked about it in this post here), which defines a feeling of well-being, being alone or accompanied by family and/or friends. And below you will find my selection of 6 products for the month of November. I selected stores that are found in most European countries…

    July 22, 2020 /
    Candles on bedroom set up

But what is hygge? This Danish word that has been appearing more and more in the world of interiors, architecture and decoration projects. I’ll share with you here in this post a little introduction to the subject, with 6 concepts for you to start applying the hygge style in your home. But where do I start writing about something that is really being something remarkable in our daily lives and in the trajectories of the composition of our house and also the interior architecture projects that I develop. And that is so much to talk about! The Hygge concept Hygge (heo-ga in English) is a Danish term that represents much…

6 furniture stores to start your new home in Germany

    April 13, 2020 /
    Ikea Frankfurt

That expat life is full of ups and downs, most of us already know it. That’s what inspired me to share this post with you, sharing my research about one of the first steps of an expatriate family: setting up the house and with that, where to buy furniture and decor items for your new home in Germany. Of course, we brought a lot of things from our home in Canada with us and we didn’t have to buy everything from scratch, but still, as some “big” furniture pieces were sold separately or as part of the home sale in Canada and I had to research here in Germany where…

    Baby Arthur's Room

    February 23, 2018 /

Baby #3 room And since it's time to meet the new family member, then nothing fair to also spy on how the youngest's room was. Once again, I preferred to use most of the things I already had, coming from Alice and Diana's inheritance (see their little room here and here). The main furniture of the room, such as crib, drawer and rocking chair are in good condition yet and had no reason to change everything (just for aesthetic reasons). Anyway, we reorganized the rooms a little on the second floor and the baby stayed with the little room that was Diana and they are sleeping together in the environment…

IKEA Guide for Newcomers| the Dining Room

    April 24, 2017 /

Almost forgotten here on the blog, I come back today with the IKEA sweetheart series and the empty pocket love-hate relationship with those who are changing countries and need to start from scratch. We’ve had several rooms in this series (see links at the end of this post) and although most newly arrived immigrant households are somewhat compact for economic reasons, whether you want it or not, you’ll need a place to eat, being a family, a couple or someone living alone. I have selected pieces that can be used in the long term, because from my own experience, I know that many of the things bought in these first…

Look at you dear readers, I, as a motivated architect That I am, I’m always finding ways to turn our home into a sweet home (see the hashtag #studioajhome on instagram). This is not only a task reserved only for architects or staff working in the area, many people I know are always trying to bring their style to their home, making improvements and making their corner in the world more cozy. They say that in a blacksmith’s house, the skewer is wooden, but here at home, on the contrary, I try to make the improvements constantly and when possible (and drag Diego with me), but there are things that…
