    Parliament of Canada in winter

Everyone has commented here that it's been a long time since we've seen a winter as snowy and cold as this one (considering that winter has just begun…). It seems that half the average snow for the entire season has already fallen here through the region of the capital. We, with the new house and the double-larger car entrance, are already feeling the difference. Anyway, a snow blower might be in our future… 🙂 We have visitors at home (Diego's mother and sister) and as usual, we went for a little jump in to see the Christmas lights in Parliament, taking the time to feel the Christmas atmosphere in downtown…

    5 Facts About a SnowDay | Ottawa – Canada

View of our street I was with a semi ready post of the first snow of the year that fell on Saturday and our autumn here presented us with a snowstorm and by itself, took away all the purpose of that post. I thought those five inches on Saturday weren't even worth compared to those 25cm on Tuesday and Wednesday. The media had been spreading the storm since the weekend and although it was heard that it would begin on Monday during the day, it began even during the night from Monday to Tuesday. The weather forecast here does not always get it right and is only seeing to believe…

    An afternoon at Saunders Farm

A few weekends ago, we went to visit a farm on the outskirts of Ottawa at the invitation of friends Carlos and Claudia. The day promised rain, but still we decided to take a little jump there to enjoy the day. Diego can't go, but he promised that next time he'd show up… 🙂 Saunders Farm is approximately 40 minutes from downtown Ottawa. It has several activities, especially in this Halloween season, with things of horror, many pumpkins and the traditional attractions of the farm, which include green mazes, farm animals, themed playgrounds, shows and tractor rides. We enjoyed a little bit of everything, even a tractor ride with excitement,…

    ByWard Market in Ottawa, Ottawa

Nothing like having friends and family around to have an excuse to visit downtown Ottawa again. We don't go downtown so often, but we love the ByWard Market area, the atmosphere and the people and the history behind this beautiful area of Ottawa. The place chosen was Tucker's Marketplace, which has a brunch/lunch full of options, for all tastes and is conveniently in the heart of Byward. Look, a penguin, mommy! Another traditional restaurant at Byward Market – The Fish Market Restaurant Our favorite pub in Byward, where we went several times when we didn't have our Alice yet… – Heart & Crown Hand-painted mini pumpkins… Fair at Byward Market…

Moving day | from Gatineau to Ottawa

    moving day

After almost 20 days into the new house, here I come to share some details and news about it. Coincidentally, moving to the new house (for us, at least) and debut on my blog posts in English, all new things that take time and energy, so I just took longer to come here to write about it, just because, we always seem to underestimate the power of moving from one house to another. We still can’t believe how many stuff we gathered in just over 4 years (hummm… that’s why our last move wasn’t thaaat bad…). We have the keys – yay!!! First things first, someone asked if we were…
