8 years in Canada – yesterday, today and tomorrow
I start today's post thanking those who participated there by FB and suggested topics for this commemorative post, since it is 8 years in Canadian lands and did not want to write, although totally true, as it went fast so far, while we did so many things that seems like an eternity since we left Brazil. I dug up some pictures from the bottom of the chest for this post, as we change in 8 years! On the day of our departure from Brazil, still in São Paulo… Today, Canada for us no longer has all that mystery when we arrived. The land where we didn't know the people properly,…

3 weeks in Brazil in pictures
Our time in Brazil this year has passed as fast as every time. On arrival, we think about the three weeks ahead of us and it looks like it's going to last, but in the blink of an eye, it's time to pack up and go home. I love to see family and friends, but I confess that I miss home, wherever we travel. The journey itself, as usual, is exhausting. But this time, we chose to fly from São Paulo directly to Passo Fundo (with a stopover in Washington-DC, since there is no ottawa/São Paulo dirto flight), and it was great, since we don't need the 4+ hours by…

Looking for the best neighborhood in your city in Canada
I recently learned of the online tool called Navut and what a great discovery! You have access to hundreds of data (if not more) from almost every major Canadian city (Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg), which can make a big difference when choosing a city to live in and the right neighborhood for You. So I thought about what hand on the wheel navut would have been at the time we were in the polls before coming to Canada. We did a very basic survey, I would say, of Edmonton and Ottawa and ended up choosing Ottawa, but I confess that we arrived here very lost, knowing nothing…

Dallas – Texas | Family travel
Okay, Okay, I think I take world already tired of these travel posts that never end. Because today is the last of the series, counting a little of our past, also fast, by Dallas in the American state of Texas. I thought Dallas filled in that idea I had of Texas before I knew it, that everything is big and broad. And it was in Dallas, the place I saw most elevated, highways and highway conglomerate. I’ve never seen such road exuberance! One of the important events in the city is that it was there that U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. In the place where the…

Los Angeles, California | Family travel
From the tour to disney california adventure and disneyland parks (1st and 2nd days), we stroll through Los Angeles and the surrounding area. I confess that the time was short and it was all very quickly, in the race even. Still, you could get an idea of the region and some of the most important sights. As we were with a rental car, we were able to choose which days to go to the parks and the city of Los Angeles. Disney parks are located in Anaheim, greater Los Angeles and our hotel was in this area. We planned well the round-trip times from Los Angeles, since the city has…

Bonnechere Caves | Tourism close to Ottawa
Another Saturday arrived, a beautiful day dawned and I thought: what can we do today? That besides tidying up the house, dealing with the DIY mini projects that are always going on and so on.I remembered that it was on my list to visit the Bonnechere Caves, 123km west of Ottawa, in Eganville – Ontario. I researched the schedules, called in some friends at the last minute and right after lunch we headed there. Once you get there, you see right away that the infrastructure is very simple and rustic, no big ads, sidewalks or buildings. Simple washrooms, ticket office/souvernirs/water and a parking lot are the things you will find…
