Winter in Canada | what to expect?
A lot of people who don't live here ask us: How do you put up with the winter in Canada? And many people who are from here too: How do you Brazilians stand the cold here? We, coming from southern Brazil, although we are not used to snow at the beginning, have always been in contact with the cold in the gaucho winter. No, it does not make -20ºC in southern Brazil, but the lack of heating keeps the temperature of the environments constantly low and consequently, the body as well. There, we needed to wear thick coats, wool jackets and gloves to study without dying of cold. Key with…

Halloween 2012
*Muriel – glad the photos inspire you!! I'm not much on the process, but it seems to me that you've been more selective and restricted lately… I think having a family even counts for more points, if I'm not mistaken. **Pat – cool that you will come here. Gatineau Park is well worth a visit. Sibele – I have no knowledge of any free English courses for foreigners here… sorry, sorry. One place you can find winter clothes with prices in mind is in value village. Watch out for vampiiiiroooo… Halloween kind of humid, but the weather gave a truce to the crowd and it did not rain during the trick…

Gatineau Park – in autumn
These days we went to do our seasonal tour to Gatineau Park and for sure, it's the time that the park gets more beautiful in my opinion! Fact is, you can't help but enjoy some autumn before he's gone. This time, we decided to visit the Mackenzie King Estate, which is inside the park, in the so-called Gatineau Hills. The place was home to the 10th Canadian Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King, who was the head of government for more than 50 years. There is the preserved heritage, including a museum where it was the house, hiking trails, gardens, picturesque ruins and the exuberant nature itself. Attention – >…

Visiting Mont Tremblant – Québec
I wanted to first thank you for the comments and congratulations on the post of 5 years! Thank you guys!! You guys who deserve the congratulations of holding me all these years, talking nonsense here on the blog … Hehehe We were in Mont Tremblant for the first time in mid-June with visits from Brazil, Adriana and Taís (Diego’s sister and cousin, respectively). We’d talked about jumping there a million times, but i never got a good shot. Of course, our idea was to go in the winter, but we heard that it was quite interesting to go in the summer too, so there we went. We decided to stay…

News direct from the southern hemisphere…
Thank you guys for the beautiful words of support in the previous post!! Next right, we are in the land brasilis. Yes, after many hours and delayed flights and consequently lost. But who followed on Facebook, we even had fun. It's just that it was the following, from Ottawa to Detroit, where it would be our stopover, the flights were leaving late because of the weather, rain with lightning in Ottawa. Then our 1 hour and little space between this flight and the next, then leaving Detroit for Sao Paulo, was impaired, so much so that the airline attendant has already begun to check alternatives, during the endless check-in in…

Brussels – Belgium | Tour Europe 2012
Brussels was last in our itinerary, we left to go on the way back from Amsterdam to Paris, where we would take the flight back home. We booked 2 more days to get to know the Belgian capital and I think it was good size too (staying only in the same city…). All that bothered me a little bit was the weather. From the photo below you can see that the sky was blue, but that was in the late afternoon, when we arrived at the hotel, exhausted… The next day, when we started the tours and the other day too, fine and cold rainy the day i-n-t-e-i-r-o. Needless to…
