IKEA Guide for Immigrants | the bathroom

    March 17, 2016 /

So in the early days of your home sweet home and even before a good night's sleep, you will need to use the bathroom, it is fact. After the bedroom and kitchen, comes the bathroom, equally, if not more important environment of the house. Bathrooms here in Canada have many differences from those in Brazil. The standard of bathrooms is to have a compact bathtub and shower on it. There's a curtain and no glass box. You throw toilet paper in the toilet yourself and the trash only fits other items. It has the discharge box attached to the base of the vessel and is there on its back when…

Valencia – Spain | Family travel

    March 2, 2016 /

Visual explosion at Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias Our visit to Valencia, Spain very short, but we managed to visit several of the most important sights. The city that emerged as a Roman colony in 138 BC. has a lot of history to tell, as well as a lot of recent things to visit. Of course, leaving Barcelona, it seemed that we would not be dazzled by little, but now recalling those days, I think Valencia gave a show, in his own way. We had 2 whole days to tourist in Valencia, the third largest city in Spain, behind only Madrid and Barcelona. We got there by train…

IKEA Guide for Immigrants | the kitchen

    February 26, 2016 /

source – IKEA.ca Well, after the bedroom, I believe that the kitchen is a good environment to continue to compose your new home, but I must confess that it took a dame to assemble this list, due to the numerous items and the wide variety of styles that people can have in this Environment. My idea here is to list some of the basic products to start your kitchen, but I know there are many options from where these items can be purchased, like Dollarama, Walmart and HomeSense, for example. But as I explained in the previous post, this guide is for those who want to make a stop only…

    Ottawa Winterlude – 2016 version

    February 19, 2016 /

The Ottawa winter festival, Winterlude took place from January 29 to February 15 this year and about 2 weekends ago, we took a hop at one of the venues of the event, across the river in Gatineau. We chose Jacques Cartier Park for the tour, because it is the one that has the most activities for children and that weekend the skating on the Rideau Canal was closed, because of the high temperatures (for this time of year) that week, so we did not go to the center of Ottawa see the sculptures on occasion. Even though we wanted to do all the activities there at the festival, Diana no…

IKEA Guide for Immigrants | the room

    February 15, 2016 /

After a month and a half in Canada, there in 2007, it was time to set up our corner. We rented a one bedroom apartment with approximately 53m2 and the first thing we needed was a place to sleep other than the floor. For this reason I find the room, or rather the bed, the first essential purchase for anyone who is setting up their home around here. I then selected some important ittems to compose the environment, since only with bed does not make a room. I already point out that as IKEA is large, has several furniture options for most tastes and styles, this selection is very personal.…

    Barcelona- Spain | Day 3

    February 10, 2016 /

Our list of day 3 of visit to Barcelona – Spain is not even long, but we fill our eyes and hearts of tourists. For those who missed the first two days in Barcelona, here’s the 1st and 2nd. Without a doubt, we work the calf of both walking, going up and down stairs and everything, on this third day. Everything was super intense and at the same time super Zen, because moments that we spent inside the beautiful work of Gaudi, Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, will never be forgotten. Parc Güell, New La Sagrada Familia Plaça d’Espanya Mont Juïc Area   Parc Güell, New Parc Güell was an…
