Ottawa Tours
In the last week of Ari and Lourdes here, we took the opportunity to go to the War Museum here in Ottawa, take a quick visit to Gatineau Park and obviously a barbecue. Remembering that the War Museum has free admission on Thursdays, from 4 to 8 pm, so we take the opportunity to go that day and save some $. 🙂 We had already gone last year with my parents, also on a Thursday, see the post here. And as for the barbecue, a few months ago we learned of a supermarket that sells picanha here in Ottawa. It seems that there was a Brazilian who worked in the…

Tulip Festival 2010
When this time of year comes I marvel at both the impressive colors of the flowers and the landscape and the high temperatures and the longer days, where we enjoy even more and more. It's dawning shortly after 5:00 a.m. and dusk around 8:30 a.m., but you still see light around 9:00 p.m. And on days like the ones you've been doing, full of sun and blue sky, you might even get confused and think you're in a tropical place. However, yesterday, it was too hot, I went to buy some ceiling fans, because my office-house was boiling, 32ºC with feeling 38ºC. Needless to say, the day didn't yield much.…

Canada Day
Hello guys, Canada Day, which takes place annually on July 1st, was very interesting and surprising. On July 1, 1867, it was when 4 provinces, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario joined and formed the country. Unlike most countries, such as Brazil and the USA, which celebrate Independence Day, Canada's day is celebrated as if it were the country's anniversary, since the real independence of England occurred only in 1982, 115 years later, where the act of constitution was officially instituted, when the last ties with the British "colony" were severed (with the exception of the figure of Queen Elizabeth, who continues to "reign" here). The people here really…

Tulip Festival | 2008
Hello dear guys! What to do if you don't talk about the flowers…? Especially the tulips that are in their turn to take care of the ottawa landscape. Good for coloring the urban landscape and even better for bringing all the energy that spring has to offer. We were at Gatineau Park last weekend and we were surprised by the extent of the park. We digirimos inside the park for about 25 minutes and did not travel even 15% of it. The staff takes the opportunity to go cycling there, but unlike us, they all seem super professional pedal (fully equipped etc). We were also in Jacques Cartier Park, also…
