Diefenbunker: Cold War Museum in Ottawa
Tunnel in Diefenbunker So that comes that weekend that had no plans and out of nowhere, ends up having a very profitable Saturday, turistically speaking. Carp is a rural community about 30min from downtown Ottawa (and 15min from our house), which even has an inland village face. It happens there, every weekend, a producer’s fair (Carp Farmer’s Market), with fresh produce and handicrafts produced in the region, too bad it’s over by the time we get there. Our plans then basically boiled down to lunch at the well recommended Alice’s Village Café, which as a name already says, has everything to do with us haha. Alice loved to pretend that…

Animal Kingdom | 2017
Another super park full of attractions for children and adults, the day of visiting Animal Kingdom always yields good memories. On our last trip there, we booked two days to visit the park, basically because our final day coincided with the opening day of the new Pandora: World of Avatar area and we were tempted to meet since we were by Orlando. Again, we try to maximize FastPass and avoid queues. One of the aspects I like most about this park are the friendly areas for rest, usually super wooded, which also serves as a refuge on these hot days that make in this city. Our favorite area is behind…

Ville de Québec | What's to be done?
One of the advantages, if you can count like this, of the husband traveling a lot for work, is that back and a half the whole family organizes and goes together. That’s how we were recently visiting the provícia capital of Québec, our second visit there, the first had been in 2008 (see post here), 9 years later! I can’t believe it took us that long to get back there. And I’ll tell you, the trip just made us fall in love with the city a little bit more. It was only a full day and a late afternoon, but it was enough to feel the weather, walk through the…

Universal Orlando | Islands of Adventure, California
The adventure begins meeeesmo! On our other two days at Universal, we booked for the Orlando Islands of Adventure, which promises hours of fun. I think the combination of attractions is phenomenal, pleasing a little of all tastes. We used the base ticket, without access to the two parks and without the fast queues, so the use of the Universal application was essential to check queue times, location of characters etc. In doubt you can check the attractions that they can go by the height … Here at home, we’re superhero fans and so the Marvel Super Hero Island area was great for meeting some characters in person. I’ll…

Just one afternoon in Ottawa | What to do
The place was full, but we got a moment "almost" just ours in inspiration village There have been cases on our trips where there was a little vague time between one flight and another and whenever this happens and we have the possibility, we try to reconcile with a little visit to that city. The fact is that Ottawa is in the "middle" of the road between two major Canadian cities, Montreal and Toronto, and sometimes it's like "if we visit" the tourist itineraries in Canada. And I've talked several times here on the blog, Ottawa is an easy city to visit, I would say, because several of the great…

Universal Studios | Orlando
Universal Studios Orlando, Florida Our days in Universal’s parks were very intense (as every day, by the way). We took a promotion to buy 2 days and win 2 days of toast, so we ended up arranging our days to be able to enjoy twice as much Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures. And if anyone asks me, it’s hard to tell which park I like the most. But if I had to choose just one to visit, I think I would choose Islands of Adventure, for its diversity of things, for all tastes and age groups. But they both yield hoooras of fun. One park is glued to…
