The next day, our plan was to take the boat trip, the peak point of the trip. Getting to know Newfoundland – Part I
Another short trip came up and this time we decided to take the opportunity to know another Canadian province: Newfoundland and Labrador. The province is further east in Canada and indeed all of North America. St. John’s, our destination, is the provincial capital with about 200,000 inhabitants and lies in the Newfoundland area, which is an island. The other part of the province, Labrador is gigantic and continental. Algonquin Park at the holiday…
Day 19 was Victoria Day holiday here and we took the opportunity to meet friends Carol and Luciano and another lively group of Brazilians and escape a little to the bush. Yes, we rent cottages on the edge of Little Hawk lake, about 40 minutes from Algonquin Park in downtown Ontario and about 3.5 hours from here in Ottawa. Diego and Luciano baptized the place by jumping into the lake on a morning that was 8ºC, eita courage! Bits and pieces of Brazil
Our fourth visit to Brazil in almost 7 years was, as always, great. Of course right, many family and friends moments is all good right! Arriving in Porto Alegre, the big wow was the heat. The day was umido and muffled. After a harsh winter like we've had here this year, I felt all unused to the warmth. The rest of the days in Passo Fundo were quiet (even it could be warmer.. rsrs), lots of sun and outdoors. Porto Alegre – RS
Porto Alegre, the state capital, was our last aerial bridge, then we went with our foot on the road to our final destination, Passo Fundo. We stayed only one day in Porto Alegre and did not make great tours simply for lack of time (between arriving tired and such…). We at least went for a walk in the city center, taking Alice on the playground and having lunch at rua da Praia shopping.
