Second floor flooring – Part I

    October 16, 2014 /

Here I come back to talk about the biggest project we've ventured so far – the second flooring!!  Just to remind you, our house is 16 years old. A lot of things haven't been changed since then, one of them the carpet on the second floor (which was in good condition, but it was green/blue and sort of dirty). In my routine at work, I see that some clients like carpets in bedroom areas and I do find a bit more comfortable, especially in cold months, but I just can go past the potential bacteria growth and cleaning that comes along with it. I find that kids/dogs and carpets are…

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    October 13, 2014 /

*Thank you Camila! I use Lightroom to edit the photos when I think need it. 🙂 Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving is celebrated today here in Canada. This year, despite the holiday season, we stayed at home and didn't make any typical date suppers around here. We are reserved, thanking you for the blessings we have and for which we are grateful. We take the opportunity to take a walk here through the neighborhood, admiring the beauties that the Canadian autumn offers us. The temperatures have gotten nice during the day and dropping near zero at night (and it looks like it has a forecast of the first flakes there by the…

Austin – Texas – Part II

    October 5, 2014 /

Following our tours through Austin, we spent most of the day at Zilker Park (see previous post – Austin Part I here). We made a strategic stop for a beautiful view of downtown Austin at Rock Point inside the park. View of Zilker Park from Rock Point – this park is great! Lou Neff Point Lookout on the edge of Zilker Park Lou Neff Point – Downtown Austin and Colorado River Barton Springs – Public natural pool – too bad you couldn’t get in, the line was huge! Playground near Barton Springs pool Quick drive – by car – on Congress Avenue – One of the most famous streets in…

    7 years in Canada

    September 24, 2014 /

Wait, stop the world I want to go down! 7 years ago (jáaaaa!) we ventured into one of the biggest steps of our life and I am happy to share, that yes, we are grateful that we did. See here the previous years – 1 year // 2 years // 3 years // 4 years // 5 years // 6 years Well, well-planned adventure, by the way, but it's still a daring undertaking. It's okay that back in 2007, when we got here, it was just the two of us, suitcases and dreams. Today we are almost 6 and we see the world in a very different way from what…

    Alice – 3 years old

    September 22, 2014 /

The alice birthday party this year was a week before the anniversary date this year, for strategic reasons, as we will be away on the weekend of her date. Who missed the previous year – here's the link to her 2-year anniversary.  Anyway, this year's theme was cowgirl/cowboy/Jessie from the movie Toy Story. Of course, if I had let her choose a few days before, it would have been frozen (what a fever huh?!), but I thought it's very popular these days and I don't like doing the same as what everyone else is doing. Alice saw all our preparation and running, so it wasn't a revelation when everything was…

    Austin – Texas – Part I

    September 17, 2014 /

On another of our short, rather unpredictable trips, this time we ended up in Texas. It was kind of in celebration of Diego’s birthday, which would be in a few days and we took advantage of a promotion of tickets to get to know the American state that we had never visited before. Of course, if you were to see the distance, since Texas is in the extreme South American center, we would have spent a lot more days to explore the other major cities, like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, but we only had 3 days to visit as much as possible.  After dropping off the dogs at their…
