Bilingual children
Just love… While in Brazil, back in my teenage years, I already imagined that one day I would have children. What I didn't realize at the time was that I would have to deal with the fact that I was living in a country where you are two official languages and neither of them is Portuguese. When our family began to grow and how they were born here, we had no doubt that the Portuguese would continue as the official language of our home, after all, all our family members are in Brazil, we have friends here who and have no doubt that we want them communicate with them efficiently.…

MosaïCanada 150 | Gatineau Tourism
A few weekends ago we visited another attraction specially assembled in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. It was a beautiful day and to coincide with another attraction that was going on the same day, La Machine, was crowded, both Ottawa and Gatineau. The MosaïCanada 150 (see more information on the website here) is in Gatineau, jacques-cartier park, on the border with Ontario, on the banks of the Ottawa River, and close to the Canadian Museum of History, is this beautiful exhibition of natural plant sculptures, addressing various historical aspects of Canadian culture. The exhibition has free admission (you can take a guided tour for $10 per adult), there is only…

Disney World Hollywood Studios
The Hollywood Studios was for the longest time the weakest park at Disney. The attractions were a bit dated, and therefore the least visited one. That will likely change with the additions of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land areas. The girls loved the Disney Junior characters, including Sophia, Doc Mcstuffins and Jake. Pluto was also a hit with everyone in the family, and BB8 was the cutest of them all. 🙂 The weather was really hot that day. We can still enjoy some shows, too. Frozen’s, called For the First Time in Forever: a Frozen Sing-Along, where Diego and I laughed a lot at the presenters…

Becoming Immigrants | The decision
In our first year of permanent residents in Canada. I was here evaluating our 10 years in Canada coming up, how much has happened and how much we've learned. The certainty that we did the right thing comes to us every day, but of course, back in the early days everything was very uncertain, it was even like a game, we were betting all our chips without knowing if we would give our number. I get countless questions from people, usually families, who have the desire to come here, who get lost in the bureaucracies of the immigration process (or study or work), but above all, wonder if it's worth…
